Immersive FIU Research

FIU's Immersive Research AR filters are a prime example of how technology can be leveraged to showcase cutting-edge research. As a leading institution in underwater research, FIU's scientists study marine life and ecosystems' response to climate change. The Aquarius Reef Base, located off the coast of Key Largo, Florida, has been instrumental in facilitating this research, allowing scientists to live and work underwater for extended periods.

As part of the effort to share their findings with a wider audience, I was involved in the development of the Aquarius Reef Base AR Filter. Using Meta Spark Studio, we created 3D models of the research facility in Cinema4D, allowing users to explore and interact with the underwater environment in an engaging way.

The filter's primary goal is to educate users about the critical work being done at the Aquarius Reef Base and the importance of protecting our marine ecosystems. By presenting the research in a fun and immersive way, the filter enables users to connect with the research, promoting FIU's work and encouraging people to take an active interest in protecting our oceans.
